The mission is like Jake shopping at Mardens
Hey Everybody!!
How is everyone doing? It should be pretty nice and quiet with the boys at home. I am sure Kimball loves it, he is home all by himself, and is able to go and watch the movies with mom and dad. Mom always has, and always will treat Kimball the best out of us four boys. I think mom likes him the best because they have the same kind of hair.
So my companion does not speak English actually. He is trying to learn and I have been teaching him. We have been getting along very well and just exploding this area. He is from a state called Minas Gerais. We will be going home together.
I am excited to hear that things are going well in Saco. Our ward has been doing the same program that the rest of the world is doing. The ward council has chosen 15 names for us to go visit. Usually they are 15 in-active families, or incomplete. And we have been visiting them and it has been having incredible success. I hear that it has been having a lot success out in the states as well.
Last week we had our zone conference. A lot of things got changed on the mission. From now on we will only be having zone conference every 3 months, instead of every month. As well as interviews, our interviews will only be every 3 months. It seems that the church is trying to streamline the missionary work, so that all the missions are equal. It seems that the church has had a focus on going back to the basics. Which makes a lot of sense because almost half of the members in the church are recent converts or less actives that are coming back.
This Saturday we will have a baptism. Her name is Roselande, and she has two kids that are special, with mental disabilities. We are going to baptize her, then the rest of her family. The way we found her was through the pass along cards. A member gave her friend a card, and Rose found it.Then she called it. And now she will be baptized pretty soon.
Well I need to get going, I don´t have to much time today. I love you all so much, and miss you guys too!!
Love, Elder Harry Kenning
``The mission is like Jake shopping at Mardens. Not knowing before hand what he wants to buy, but leaving with a bunch of old cereal, ties, and party shirts. In this way it is like the mission because you don´t know what you are getting yourself into, but what you find is the things that make you truly happy.´´
