Goodbye to Grandma Martha
Hi, I am really sorry to hear about Grandma. I wish I could write more, but we just got a call from President, and we need to go and help some missionaries out who have been slacking off. President will be doing an emergency transfer and I will be staying the next couple of days in another area.
I am fine, healthy and enjoying mission life. Wish me luck, this experience with these missionaries will be an interesting one.
I love you all!!!! Be good!!!
Love, Elder Harry Kenning
In the letter that Dan wrote to Harry, he asked him if he wanted to write some thoughts down about Grandma to put in the casket. This is what Harry wrote. Before the funeral and before they closed the casket, we place these thoughts along with others with her. Here is what Harry writes.........
Dad,
Here are some thoughts for Grandma. I wish I had more time to sit down and think what I want to write, but I need to get to work, and I know that is what she would like me to do.
Grandma,
Thank you everything that you have done for me and my family. They say that everything good in life has it´s source. And the happiness in my life has all started with you, and Grandpa. You have raised my parents to be the examples they are today, and have treated their kids with the same love and attention that anyone would need to have a hearty life.
Grandma, I will always remember playing around your house as a little kid, playing with the pinecones, feeding the blue jays, and playing on the slides. I will always remember the good Sunday meals that you cooked.
Thank you so much that you have done for me. I will always remember the warm spirit of home when I talked with you. Even though our time was short together, you have made a huge impact on my life.
Isn´t it great that we can be together forever after this life? Isn´t it wonderful? I know that you are well taken care of on the other side, I don´t need to worry. I just feel selfish, I would rather have you here, giving me a big hug.
I just have one thing to ask, please prepare a feast for all of us when we come home, and please be there as always, waiting with arms open, and a smile on your face to welcome us home after a long day of work.
Until we meet ín our Father`s Kingdom,
Love,
Harry James Kenning
