Serving in Portsmouth, Ohio
It's P-day! Super excited, The Portsmouth Ohio area is doing pretty well. Its been a pretty eventful week in some aspects. No complaints, never any complaints when you are a servant of the Lord.
This week really has been a miracle.. Its definitely a yielding of the fruits of our labors from last week haha. Last week we busted our tails working to find new investigators and build up our teaching pool and really get things rolling here in the Portsmouth area because it's been really slow before I got here. We tracted for hours on hours every single day last week, and during the course of this week We have been blessed with six new investigators and two potentials. We had a referral to go and give this old lady a blessing at the hospital, so we did so and asked if we could come back and teach her again! She said yes, but she canceled.. So we decided to just drop on in to see how she was doing. We caught her and talked for a good hour and taught her the whole restoration. Afterwards on our first discussion we committed her to be baptized and she says she will and she will get back to us next lesson more about it, which Im super stoked. I really want to baptize these eight we found, they all seem so promising and we have another two that we have been working on named Rebecca and Danny. It's just the greatest thing to teach people about the rrestored gospel of Jesus Christ.
I've been really trying to improve my door approach this week and my "how to begin teaching" methods also. I try to teach the restoration right on the door step haha it's so much fun.
On Wednesday and Thursday I went on Exchanges with the ZL's down in Huntington WV. Which was great, we taught a few lessons that night did some street contacting in downtown Huntington which was a blast but super sketchy because aparently it's the second worst town in America according to some members there haha but still super fun.
So during the week about 75 % of our lessons fall through everyday so we have to resort to tracting or less active work. We were contacting down on the east side of Portsmouth over the tracks by Shawnee State, where I went to a house and he opened the door and some college kid came out. He explained how he was from Sao Paulo Brazil and knows Portuguese, and how he had a Girlfriend who was mormon and he went to our church for almost a year.. Me being myself, I just went nuts because 1.)He knows Portuguese and I desperately need practice, 2.) he already knows a lot about the Gospel. So I'm really going to try and take advantage of this and hopefully practice with him and at the same time teach him lessons in Portuguese. Super excited. It's been some fun over here.
Last few days have been frigid.. I hate the coldness over here haha. Last night we got drenched with freezing rain and snow.. so this morning was a struggle getting out the door. We were clearing the car off, and the doors wouldnt open because of the "ice" so the only way to get in that I thought of was through the trunk and through the seats to turn the car on. So i do that turn the car on, try really hard to push through the door and it wasnt working! So I'm like what the heck! My comp comes around and is like well, try unlocking the car see if that works.. So I do, and the door pops right open, made me so mad.. whatever. Anyway, hope you guys have a great week! Oh, and Thanks for the Ron Jon frisbee, its pretty sick! Made me super jealous but serving is even better :) talk to you guys later!

Spiritual Thought: 2 Peter 1:1-10 For by these things we may have the Grace of God. If these things abound in us we shall not fail and our calling and Election may be sure. Be diligent! And Partake of the Promises of God. We will not falter.
