Lighting the stove with a 9V battery and steel wool
Hey Family!
How is everyone doing?
So my P-day is tuesdays, I only sent the letter last week on wednesday because all day tuesday I was catching buses. My Pday schedule is pretty mundane here, I am out in the middle of nowhere, there is nothing really important to do here so in the morning I wake up and have breakfast and study like usual. At 11 we leave, we like to get the Internet out of the way first because in the afternoon it gets really busy where we get on the computer. So it is basically until 6 we have free time. I will probably do my laundry today, clean, and write letters. Tonight we have some lessons lined up hopefully they will hold strong and not fall through.
I am glad that you recieved my package, and I hope that Jake had a most excellent birthday.
I am so sorry to hear about Clayton Thomas, that is so strange. I can´t believe it. But I know he is in a better place.
So I am sure you want to hear about my past week, oh man what an adventure. Our house is so ghetto, I need to figure out a way to send pictures, like I said I am in the middle of nowhere so it is hard to do anything related to technology, but I will find a way. Anyways for our stove we ran out of matches, and I had to light it using my boyscout skills with a 9V battery and some steel wool. Everything here is jimmy rigged, it is actually pretty funny. Our electric shower head broke a few days ago, so I haven´t been able to take a shower until today. I took a cold one.... And it was very cold, but I guess that is mission life. Sunday was really crazy. Our chapel is a converted house, and we only have like 60 members, but it seems that half of them are little kids. During testimony meeting all the members were playing musical chairs getting up and down changing seats. It was really interesting. Afterwords we went and had lunch. It was Feijao, which is like rice and beans, but only when they cook the beans they cook it with lots of other things, chicken, pork, whatever... but it also includes bones and grisel. A couple of times I had to spit out a knuckle or two. It was good though.
We have a baptism lined up for this sunday, and another lined up for the following saturday which is wicked exciting! We have 3 others that are progressing and are really excited about the gospel, I just need to improve my Portugeuse! Portugeuse is coming along. It is really interesting how the spirit works. I can only really understand the people that are important, like my companion, and our important investigators. It is pretty cool.
So for my thought you need to read a really awesome talk by Elder Bednar called the Enabling power of the Atonement. It is so cool. Well I need to go I love you all! Thanks for your emails and your support!
