Howdy Yallll
This week has been crazy! Soo much to do as a missionary. Last Sunday I was assigned as the Zone Leader for Zone 69. It's a big responsibility, we had about 40 missionaries in my zone. During the week about 3/4's of the missionaries left! Its been pretty sad, about half of them went to Portugal, then two of them got Visa's to serve in Santos Brazil which is very exciting. Everyone else got reassigned to Louisiana, texas, California, Florida and Upstate New York. We didnt get anyone new this past wednesday either, but hopefully we are getting a big bunch this Wednesday! It's really cool to be able to become friends with all these guys and stay in contact with them throughout their journey. So i'll probably be one of the missionaries who get reassigned... I havent heard anything about my visa except that I needed to re-due my FBI clearance. I've only met about 5 missionaries who received their Visas to brazil out of all the missionaries I know called to Brazil. My fingers are crossed, but my Branch President told me not to worry or pray for my visa because wherever I go is where i'm needed. If you find anything about my visa before I do please let me know :)
I'll probably be receiving my reassignment this coming Friday or the following Friday, I'm not sure. I'm pretty excited that my time at the MTC is coming to an end in a couple of weeks, and that I'll be put into the field to serve! Cannot wait. The language is coming down pretty well, I can carry on pretty good conversations, teach lessons, make jokes all in Portuguese! Its pretty amazing how things work here in the MTC. We have so many chances to Speak Portuguese and to Teach Lessons. I teach about two lessons a day, and yesterday I got to teach four.. I taught two native Brazilians last night which was amazing, so much fun. Brazilians speak soo fast. At the same time, I could understand almost everything she was saying and was able to communicate back to her. The language is definitely a blessing in my mission. Its one thing to teach a lesson in your native tongue, but when you get the opportunity to speak in a different language to touch the hearts of others is amazing.
The MTC is killing me though! The food is good and all but when the food is free and all you can eat, it starts effecting you haha.. I can out eat everyone in my zone.. I eat way too much. I've gained some weight, which is good to compensate for what I may lose in Brazil (If I get there). But I definitely have to work extra hard in the gym.. Gym is literally the highlight of each of my days.. its so nice, I love playing basketball with all the other missionaries. Its a blast.
Oh, Wednesday I was able to be a "host" missionary! Which is when i stand at the curb waiting for families to come and drop of there new missionaries! It was pretty cool, I was able to Host four missionaries. Which means to make them say goodbye to there families which was pretty rough at times then to take them on a tour of the campus and get all there language books, and show them to there room. Pretty cool experience, Reminded me of when I first left about a month ago. Which seems like a long time ago, but at the same time it doesnt.
How's the Fam doing! Glad to hear that mom and dad were able to go on a date, i'm sure that was fun! Kimball how is school and scouts! Are you an Eagle yet!? Sounds like you could be according to that amazing scouting program you have. Hope you are getting straight A's! I know you are because you are a pretty smart little guy! Speaking of little guys are you taller than I am yet! Because i'm so short here in the MTC.. I hate it. Except I'm taller than my companions :) Glad to hear that Harry had a good Birthday! Glad you all had a good week! Sorry if my letter is so jumbled I just have so much to say.
I probably should get going, I have a haircut appointment at 9 then laundry a little bit later! I love you all! Have a good week.
