Still waiting to hear on visa or a reassignment

Good Morning Kenning Family! How are you all doing!? So cool that you guys went to D.C. this past week, I love that picture of Kimball by the rocket ships. Super Jealous! I bet you guys had so much fun! Things have been pretty busy here at the MTC. I still have yet to receive any notice on my visa, or a reassignment.. Although one of my companions just received his! He is going to be serving in Georgia, and the other is going to Mesa Arizona! I'm not sure whats going to happen, I know I still have a full week here in the MTC to be able to receive an answer hopefully. I'm very excited, cant wait to get out in the field! I'm pretty nervous about speaking the language in Portuguese though..

Haha funny experience, my two companions find me sleep talking in Portuguese about every night.. They never can understand me haha I'm sure I sound like a dork a lot of the time. It's pretty weird, I'm very excited for when I get to the point where I think, dream, and am completely fluent in Portuguese :) It'll be pretty cool. We have this thing called SYL (speak your language) where we try to use portuguese in everything we do. So I catch myself talking in portuguese to people randomly because it's just such a habit of mine. It's alll good though.

On Thursday, we had the opportunity to Skype with actual native Portuguese speakers, everyone skyped with people to Brazil and my companions and I skyped with a guy from Portugal. The Portuguese from Portugal is very different from the Portuguese in Brazil because of the pronunciation, and the way they say things. So we skyped for about 50 minutes with this guys getting to know him, and to teach him a short lesson. It was such a cool experience, it was pretty hard to understand everything he was saying, but it still was one of the coolest experiences i've had.

On Wednesday we finally received new missionaries.. since 40 of the other missionaries left last week my zone has dropped to about 7 missionaries.. So getting more missionaries was the best haha. I had the opportunity of greeting them, and doing some orientation with all the new elders. It's pretty fun being a Zone Leader. I get to make new friendships and be able to have that leadership role which is always fun. We are expecting more missionaries next week also! Our zone will finally get back up to quantity.

But yeah, I only have about one week left here in the MTC, it seems like it has flown by, Each day feels like it takes forever, but the weeks here are crazy fast. It's kinda weird being in the MTC in limbo not knowing exactly where i'll be next week. Everyone has received there reassignments except for me.. I kinda hoping its because my visa is processing.. but that could just be me dreaming haha I've heard of missionaries who didnt get reassignments, or there visas and had to wait a whole extra week.. So who knows what will happen with me! Whatever happens, happens and it's where I need to be.

Nothing too special has happened lately, just the immense amount of studying that happens everyday. As missionaries we try to balance that out when we get home. Last night two elders and I played MTC curling.. where someone would sit in a mop bucket with wheels, someone would push them to try and land the person on a yellow sqaure, and then the last person would take a push broom and sweep in front of the bucket haha. It was pretty fun. Some of the weird things that happen in a MTC residence hall. Well I probably should get going. Boa Sorte minha familia. I miss you all, and pray for you guys everyday. Hope all is well. Love yah!

Love, ELder Kenning
