First P-Day in the field
Hola! How is everyone doing!? Pretty cool that you guys are in Florida right now where the weather is about 70 degrees.. I must say though that, that is perfect timing to go down considering the weather up here. I'm sure you guys are loving it so much, glad kimball has someone to talk to haha I bet you guys are having a great time with The Jacobsons too! Sounds fun, glad you guys have the chance to relax for a little bit.
So I finally made it to my mission.. I had such a long layover in Dallas.. Our flight got cancelled three times and the different terminals kept changing, I lost my companion on one of the trains that take you around.. Which is a whole different story haha But the Dallas Airport is huge! Insane. So we had to stay the night there in dallas, the Church was kind enough to put us up in a nice hotel for the night. It was weird because we couldnt do anything, we would have been better off in a really crumby hotel with less temptation haha So we literally just studied the night away, I had my ipod with little head phones so we amplified the noise by sticking the buds in paper cups.. And we listened to church music. The next day we finally made it to West Virginia and Met President and Sister Pitt. They are so nice and so cool. We stayed at there house till saturday morning because of the weather and transfers got pushed back till saturday instead of Wednesday. Oh and at this point my luggage had been lost so the whole time (about 5 days) I had to wear the exact same thing.. it was miserable and really gross.. Yesterday morning after church they finally delivered my luggage and I have everything I need now.. It feels so nice to have more clothing.
Anyway. SO I had transfers I received my new companion too! His name is Elder Barney, yes like the Purple dino haha He is so awesome, He is my trainer he has been out for only three months now and is fairly new like me. We are serving in the Portsmouth Ohio area. It's pretty cool up here, and really freezing. Portsmouth is very unique You could say haha It is the number one county with the most misused prescribed drugs and is up there for the worst town for the use of heroin.. oh and dont forget the accents up here haha Definitely a lot to be done here. It's so cool to be serving here though, I already feel this connections with the people, it's just so much fun to talk to them. We've taught a bunch of people, a lot of appointments have fallen through so we have been door knocking a ton past couple of days in the bitter cold. With little success. It's definitely been humbling being ou there and it just drives me to go even harder.
I dont have an apartment, a lady in the ward is letting us rent out her old house. We are staying in a fairly good size home which is really nice. Really blessed to be able to have that place to stay. I really like it, its very homey.
I guess thats about it, It's been one crazy hectic week here in the mission for sure, but it's been good. Glad to be serving the lord right now. Hope all is well with you guys! Sure miss and love you guys a lot! Pray for you every day. Hope to hear from you soon! Love yah.
