I am at the Newport Beach Library off of PCH
I am at the Newport Beach Library off of PCH, I can see Balboa Marina and the crystal blue ocean just outside the window, second story. Its a perfect 78 degrees, with a slight ocean breeze. I just might top it off by getting myself a glass of homemade lemonade. To bad you can't come over here, because I'm here first!
This past week was difficult working. As I have been in the area longer, I'm starting to notice that this ward, comparing to the whole mission, is having a bigger struggle in doing missionary work. To give you a run down on what has happened and whats going on now and whats going to happen:
The past year, history of the ward, not so good missionaries (a string of missionaries) have been sent here and ruined the relationship with the ward/ bishop. And just the last missionaries before me tried to redeem themselves (good missionaries), but has not been successful. The Mission President have switched out missionaries frequently here also.
These past weeks, I've worked really hard and only a little came out, harder than all my past wards. My comp. wants to give up sometimes. We are really trying to bond with the members, especially the Bishop. The Stake President lives in our ward and is helping us out a lot.
What's going to happen is that the Mission President was notified that a General Authority will be coming to a ward in the mission and he will be attending, un-announced, Ward Council, PEC, and Sacrament meeting to help out in what is needed, I only bring this up because, our AP's has asked all missionaries to nominate a ward that has need for an general authority to help with missionary work. My whole Zone nominated us.
The stake President is holding a meeting with our zone pretty soon to help further the work, and build excitement.
I'm excited to see whats happening, I hope I can stay in this ward for a while, and so I can see the progression.
Other than that, things have been good. I can't believe how fast time flew by.
Did Lee get sent home early?....jk. Can't believe he's home. But I can believe he is the same lee. Maybe you can ask him if he ever met a man, Lugarian :)
I've been hearing that the wedge has had really good swells for surfing, and everyone is packing up their boards to surf. I can't wait to dive into the Ocean when I get home, and surf. (Not Trunky).
We were at salvation army yesterday and they had a whole lot of surfboards, cheap price too.
SCRIPTURE!
Mosiah 28:2-4 "That perhaps they might bring them to the knowledge of the Lord their God, and convince them of the iniquity of their fathers; and that perhaps they ight cure them of their hatred towards the Nephites, that they might also be brought to rejoice in the Lord their God, that they might become friendly to one another, and that there should be no more contentions in all the land which the Lord their God had given them. Now they were desirous that salvation should be declared to every creature, for they could not bear that any human soul should perish; yea, even the very thoughts that any soul should endure endless torment did cause them to quake and tremble. And thus did the Spirit of the Lord work upon them, for they were the very vilest of sinners. And the Lord saw fit in his infinite mercy to spare them; nevertheless they suffered much anguish of soul because of their iniquities, suffering much and fearing that they should be cast off forever." The spirit of the Lord worked upon these missionaries to show them charity, the way Heavenly Father sees us. He loves us, and wants us, so much, to live with him once again.
