First Week in the Mission!

Oh and by the way, is there a Meterorite hitting the earth on tuesday? tomorrow?? something is stirring up in Cali.

What's Happen'n?!
So the First week in the Field has been great. To be honest I was expecting to be alot more busy and working more, but its cool i'm really pushing my senior comp though because I still have that "burning fire" from the MTC but to stoke the fire i must work even harder. So my Senior Comp is Elder Kato, he is Tongan and the cool thing is that he knows Romney well, Elder Kato is from seatle also and his mom is friends with Hisi. When i met him he had ukulele with him and so him and play alot. Its awesome. Its cool to see how many people know my friends from Elder Hinkley, Groesbeck and Kato.
First Sunday was cool, The congregation practically whispers when they sing, it sounds like no body there tries to sing, but coming from the MTC where everyone was practically screaming. But When I got to the Field there was a Recent Baptism and so Elder Kato and I are teachin his family and they are coming to church and it's saweet. My Ward is called the Santiago Creek Ward and its in the city of Orange (little north of Santa Ana).
Oh and you said the food will not be a problem? there is soooooo much food still! the first day i flew in, I ate dinner at the Mission Presidents House, then later his counselor took us out to In and Out and then 30 minutes later we ate dinner at a members house! and every day there has been a member to feed us! hahaha this is the hard part of a mission. on thursday my district and I went to olive garden and got unlimited soups salads and breadsticks and ate till we couldn't walk, then later my comp and I go to a dinner appointment and stuff our brains out! But the members are great here, Yesterday for sunday dinner we went to a members house and I talked cars with him and he does street racing with nice cars from pourshe to ferrari. Btw i have seen so many sick cars here and not so sick cars.

So i believe you should send packages and mail to my mission home, its just how it works. I get mail every thursday for the whole week. So I just purchased my bike today its a used one but its souped up yo. And that stinks its below freezing. here its like 75, but like two days ago it got down to 60 and everyone was freaking out, it was hillarious but mostly sad.

So about pictures, I forgot to bring my Camera, All the Elders do their emailing at the Family history center at the Chapel. My comp says maybe later today or this week i can send my pictures so you can see them and post them "and what not". But i have a favor for you to do mom, will you send me out pictures that i took of Maine, everyone wants to see it, Get the best ones you think and like the ones i have on my facebook, and get the sunrise surf shots, Ocean shots, bar harbor ones from camp, but ones i've taken- unless you have some. and my profile pic surfing one. and most importantly send one of the family like at the headlight or something. And in that can you send me out some music on a CD. the rules are more lighter, i can listen to anything that is uplifting. can you send me EFY music (like my cds), you can send me lots of disney music, Mormon tabernacle Choir is good if you want to send me out "come thou fount" by Mo-tab. it is a good song i heard.

Oh and a Member wanted to ask Dad if he has been to Cupid Hot Dogs in Van Nuys. haha Idk I'm glad Dad has a good job it is a real blessing.
And i need to do a spirtual thought now i guess. haha

Okay here it goes.
Its funny too.
So 1 Nephi chapter 3 verse 7 says "I, Nephi, said unto my father: I will go and do the things which the Lord hath commanded" and nephi is talking about going and getting the plates from Laban. Now a few verses down it says in verse 11 "And we cast lots" so basically after he said "I will go and do" he is now pulling straws with Laman and Lemual. haha that is funny eh? he kinda wimped out for a little but eventually nephi did go with his brothers. The best part is Chapter 4 verse 6 and it says "And I was led by the Spirit, not knowing beforehand the things which i should do". I think that is cool becuase we can be led to do something without know the consequences or why we need to, its obedience and faith and it is very easy to apply in our lives now.

I will write soon,
love Elder Kenning
