Whats going on over there? so thanksgiving was crazy! a part-member family had us over for breakfast than later on thanksgiving we did the turkey bowl and then had a huge lunch thanksgiving at members house with a lot of family there and then after that we went to another big dinner at 8:00 at a hispanic family the Garcias. The Garcias are awesome, they have been recently baptized there parents don't know english that well but we communicated well, they told me that I will be speaking spanish like crazy in two years, I said yeah right I won't. Then they said it would be funny if I go home and say "como esta mama y papa". yeah anyways, they are going to make tamales too, i've never had one. I've eating some good stuff down here EVERYDAY! ugh i need to excercise more. i'm at 200 excactly.(I left home at 185) because our bikes are not working right now, so once they are fixed we can excercise more to keep up with the food consumption amount.
Yesterday after church one of the members took us around to appointments in a Rolls-Royce. It was a smooth ride. He said next time he will let us go in his bentley. I said that would be great. The Members are funny down here, One family for cars only have VW bus or VW bug's and they are hard core surfers, the dad does a thing with the magazine Standup paddle or something like that. There is a member in the adjacent ward that makes custom surfboards for all the missionaries....hoping i get to serve there, My district leader serves there, thats how I know.
So it seems like you have had a great thanksgiving! I'm glad you enjoy that, And Mom I bet you enjoy not having to waste all your money on four boys to feed now you only have to worry about the two tender little guys. Next time you email you got to put a few words in from Kim-lickins.
Its been really Hot the past few days because of the "Santa Ana Winds" its when the hot desert air flows right over the canyon into so. Cal. but its refreshing it blew all the smog off shore I have picture of it. without me in it. next week i will get a picture of me. but yeah.
The work is progressing, We got two baptism' for next saturday, maybe even three, this one guy whose smart and knows his history very well is investigating and we know and he knows this church is true he just needs to be baptised, if not we will wait till the following week.
Tranfers are December 12, but i won't get tranferred becuase i'm being trained for 12 weeks. so at transfers i will have only been out in the field for 6 weeks. I don't know a Elder Cook but In the MTC (empty sea) I did meet an elder who was going to be serving in your mission area, i forgot his name but i told him about you guys so he knows.
Funny story, yesterday we went to a recent convert family to teach with a older lady that the ward mission leader assigned to teach, as we walk in their, I think pit bull, was barking crazy and growling (and what not), she was like "I know what to do to quiet it down", the family said no don't do it. and She put her arm right in front of the dog mouth literally, and you guessed it, the dog snacked on her arm, and merely bruised it haha, she immediatly said "it broke my skin" ...said it like 15 times. and she wasn't even bleeding and it was really weird cuz me and my comp are just sitting back watching what is going on. just thinking....why. haha it got bit crazy with her and the fam. we were disapointed that it happened, but its just funny when you look back on it.
I love y'all. I miss you and I don't miss you. its how a mission works, and send me a big ole package will ya? jk i meant please. and I we can only Call on Christmas. and just kidding about the pictures, i forgot my cord, i will do some next time. have a cold week....eopaopebfaopb Fun week, F is for friends that do stuff together.
Spiritual thought:
from the Book of Mormon - Moroni 7:9 "And likewise also is it counted evil unto a man, if he shall pray and not with real intent of heart; yea, and it profiteth him nothing, for God receiveth none such."
When we pray we must pray with "real intent". What does real intent mean? it means not only a desire and with sincerity but It means that you intend to act on any answer that you recieve in your prayers. So if we don't Intend to act with faith on our prayers, "for God receiveth none such".
So say your prayers, with real intent, willing to act in faith. and then "all your wildest dreams will come true."(pedro, Napolean Dynamite)
In the name of Jesus christ, our Savior. Amen
