Oy, chaps of the East. Happy Thanksgiving.
Oy chaps of the East. happy thanksgiving.
This past week has been pretty busy. When my comp and I were tracting we found 3 potential investigators. we met up with one of them on tues and she was very nice so us but as the lesson started we planned on talking about restoration, so we did it, and it was good, she listened and everything, after we set another appointment for thursday. So we started planning on teaching the plan of salvation, and so we opened first if she had any other questions. and then she unloaded on us with bible bashing scriptures, my comp and I got blasted, and everytime we get back to the book of mormon she will blast us with more. It was Intense, but it all ended with me commiting her to a honest prayer to know if the Book of Mormon was true, because thats the only way for a person to know if the book was true, so we read moroni 10: 3-5. And thats how far we got so far, we are really trying though. My first baptism has Changed, she still wants to get baptized but now she wants her husband too, so we are doing the lessons with him and scheduled a date for dec 10th for the both of them, i'm really excited we are working on about 5 investigators this week and 2 less active families.
Dad! its going to be hard to say this but......i'm craving your cookies...and you need to make some and send them. ahaha
So this Thanksgiving, My comp and I have like 4 DINNER APPOINTMENTS!!!! and 1 lunch. from 3 o'clock till 9 we are scheduled out for dinner. I am literally not going to eat anything all wednesday to save room for thursday. The lord needs to give me strength to pound all that food in alive. Yesterday after a very musical sacrement we went to a members house to play piano...i meant EAT DINNER! and she made mom's baked beans and pork sandwhiches and during dinner their son whois 13 was wearing a Bruins sweatshirt and the "B" from Red Sox. So i was like "you guys like boston bruins??" and everyone just kind of slowly looked at me and said what? i said, his sweatshirt says boston bruins....oh its not boston is it? hhaaha and he was like no way. its like UCLA or something some college that they all went too. it was very funny though, we had a good time there.
Oh and I just ate at Chick fill-a for the first time. it was grand.
Its still a little warm here, one day we had a very bad smog day or it might have been water vapor, i can't tell but the sun was shining thru it. Another picture is at night. in the picture (to the left) is Newport and farther left is Irvine, (in the farthest middle) is Disney Land and Angles Stadium, (closest middle) is Orange, (towards the right) is anaheim hills and yorba linda and L.A. is far far down there. another picture is just a sweet picture by taking a picture with slow shutter speeds.
Gather 'round y'all its spirtual scripture time!
in Jacob 4:4 it says
"For, for this intent have we written these things, that they may know that we knew of Christ, and we had a hope of his glory many hundred years before his coming; and not only we ourselves had a hope of his glory, but also all the holy prophets which were before us."
We read the Book of Mormon to come closer to christ and by learning his doctrine and trying to be like jesus we can, The b.o.m. has the fullness of the gospel. read it and have fun and study it. Amen
I love all of youz and that includes you Kim-lickins.
until next week.
