Missionary life is so wicked awesome!
Hey Everybody!!!
Finally I get pictures! It has been a really long time since I have seen any pictures of you guys! Everybody has changed! Grant looks way older... And Jake as well.... Mom you still look like you are 29 years old so don´t worry about that.
Last week it was rainy everyday, and neither one of us and an umbrella. So we decided to go buy new ones so that we wouldn´t show up at people´s houses sopping wet. The same day that we bought new umbrellas the skies cleared up and it has been really hot and muggy ever since. My umbrella is still on my table and hasn´t been used since I bought it. So I am getting nice and tan, I have been doing a lot exercises during the morning so by the time I get home I will be pretty good looking. But don´t worry there is a piece of harry for everyone. I am just kidding.... But just think.... A tan, strong, and skinny harry....
So this past week has been pretty crazy. Last year when I was down here I baptized a couple people who for the first time went and took out their endowments. I asked special permission from President to go with them the first time, and he let me. Wow... it was such an incredible experience. I will send the pictures of the temple. Just imagine, you were with them ever since day one. It´s incredible because I can remember how we first got to know them, the street contact, and what they said. The Lord truly prepares His elect for the missionaries to find. It seemed like everything worked out perfectly at the temple. It was funny because there I met up with someone from every single ward that I had passed through on the mission.
Last Wednesday we had zone conference with President. The mission hasn´t been doing too well lately, and President thinks it is because of obedience. So that is all he did, he opened up the missionary manual and started talking about all the mission rules, burning everyone! I have been keeping the rules so I didn´t feel burnt.
Anyways, Sunday was pretty cool. We had the whole missionary work of the ward reorganized. We had a new ML called, and so we all had a meeting and trained everyone. The whole ward seems to be way excited with missionary work. So we are going to capitalize on this with Christmas. I sure hope that people will be more recpeptive to the gospel during the holidays.
During Sunday we found a member´s lost dog and went on a dog rescue. The dog was right by the highway, so we had to scare it so it wouldn´t run onto the highway. When we went to go get it it ran and hid itself in a hole. This dog isn´t a little tiny dog, that looks like a chiwawa. It got really deep in this hole, and we had to dig it out to rescue it. We were in our suits trying to dig out this dog, if you could imagine the looks on everyone´s faces as they passed us by... I bet they thought that we were crazy just like Joseph Smith looking for buried treasure. When we gave the dog back the owner started to cry and thank us so much for rescuing his dog. He has had that dog fro the past 17 years!!!!
Yesterday we changed part of the roof of the bishop´s house. The roofing here is like a thin piece of fiber board that they put on that is highly breakable. So my comp was cleaning up the broken pieces of the roof and lowering them down to me in a bucket. And I don´t know how but the bucket slipped off the rope and fell. This bucket was incredibly heavy full of rocks, concrete, etc.... And crashed into the roof below. Luckily no one was hurt, but it left I nice little hole, and broken bucket on the roof. It was pretty funny, I guess you should have been there...
Well, nothing else really crazy has happened around here. Yesterday we had a lot of success finding new investigators that are really good. So we will see how it goes with them.
I love you guys so much!!!! Just think in a few weeks it will be Christmas already! The church is true! Missionary life is so wicked awesome!
Love,
Elder Harry Kenning
