Out of the Office
Hey Everybody,
How is everyone doing. I am now out of the office and have been transferred to the outskirts of the São Paulo. Right now I am in a LAN house and the internet is very slow here, and it has been making me very angry. But that´s all apart of the mission life, I was used to the air conditioned office, with my own personal computer, I guess I have gone soft...
This is my address now. To get way out here I had to go to the center of Sao Paulo by subway, take a train, then take a bus. It took a good few hours to get out here, and of course I had to go with all of my luggage. What an adventure. So I have been transfered, and my companion´s name is Elder A. Dantas. He is from the North of Brasil, and I have been called as an Zone Leader. Things should get interesting, I have a great companion, and a great area. My area is one of the best areas to baptize in. I am so grateful, because I have not been able to baptize a lot in the office, and I hope to baptize until I am so exhausted that they have to carry me back in a stretcher.
Mom, I probably am going to lose more weight here in this area. My zone is famous for it´s extreme hills. My zone is Riberão Pires and Mauá. They say in Mauá that the hills are so steep that your tie touches the ground when you are climbing it.
I am really excited about what will happen this transfer, and really nervous. I don´t think I am prepared to be a Zone Leader. I will have to lead other misionaries, interview investigators, and worry about my own area, all at the same time, and all in Portugeuse. I don´t know when my first interview will be, but it should be quite interesting. Can you imagine me in a shanty house interviewing people with problems of drugs, crime, etc? Wish me good luck, and pray for me as well.
I am sorry to hear about bowie.... He was such a good cat. He has gone to the big litter box in the sky.
There has been a lot of earthquakes in brazil? That´s weird, it´s hard to tell if the ground has been shaking because of an earth quake, or because of the transit that has been going by.
Last week we had a conference with Elder Godoy. It was awesome. He served in our mission, and was telling about mission stories that had happened in some of my areas. He gave us a really good training on helping our investigators helping them resolve their problems. He said that there are two different kinds of problems. There are problems with their testimonies, or there are problems that are related to keeping commitments. He then gave three points why we were called as missionaries.
1. We are called to save souls.
2. Establish the church
3. Save ourselves
The conference was awesome, and afterwords he went to our office and we had a special meeting with us. He didn´t have time to interview us personaly.... but we all met together and we talked about how the mission was going.
Well I need to go... I love you all so much! Have a great week! And a great memorial day!
