Zone Conference, carnival, & Grant's birthday
Hey Everybody!!!
How is everyone doing? I have been hearing that it has been snowing a lot up there in the north east. Is it true, or are people just exaggerating that to me. Anyways.... Nothing to crazy has been going on around here. Yesterday I had Zone Conference, so I was not able to write an email. Sorry, but I am writing right now, it´s the thought that counts right?
Zone Conference was really good, we talked about receiving spiritual guidance, and using the Spirit in very aspect of our work. It was really neat during Carnival. No one was on the road, and no one was at home. All of our appointments had fallen through so we went to the fail safe plan of knocking doors. It was so awesome, it was as if we were guided only to the people that were home, available, and ready to listen to the gospel. We ended up teaching an ex-catholic priest, and teaching a family who is extremely interested in the book of Mormon. Work is so much easier with the Spirit. If you just follow it he will guide you to the right path, house, decision, etc. We didn´t waste time that day, just straight work.
One of the elders in the office would like to ask you guys a favor. Actually there are two elders here who would like to ask favors. Here in the office I only work with Brazilians, and they don´t have access to a lot of things. One of them would like to ask for a Rubik´s Cube, and the other would like a United States Soccer Jersey. They said that they will pay for them, but these things don´t exist down here. I don´t know if it´s possible but, if you have time, they would love you guys forever.
Anyways, I don´t want to look like I am asking for presents from Santa. But how is everyone doing out of school ? I sure hope that you guys are taking care of friend #1. I can´t bare to watch that video on my ipod with Grant using my laptop. Well Jake, and Grant know the rules, you break it, you buy it... So whoever is reading this email on the mac right now, needs to clean it up for me. Thanks!
HAPPY BIRTHDAY GRANT!!!! And you thought that I would forget. I have a present for you coming to the office that I will send it out when I get it. You will love it, it´s freakin awesome.
For FHE, I don´t know what I have to chose. So in the next email, mom tell me what I need to pick for FHE. Since I don´t know what I have, I would like to choose the opening song. And the song will be.... Lady....by Kenny Rogers. You know how it goes right? Lady, you´re my knight in shining armor, and I love you. You´re all that I ever had, and, I ´m in love...
Wow, I am surprised myself, I can´t believe that I remembered that. Dad don´t laugh to hard.
This Friday, we have some business to take care of at that other church. It will be awesome. We are totally going to baptize the whole congregation.
The office is treating me well, I work with 3 other elders who are Brazilians. We have missionaries from Columbia, Brazil, and the USA. I have met Elders from Africa, but they aren´t in our mission. Also, we don´t have any Couple Missionaries in our mission.
Alright I need to get going! I miss you all so much! My love for you all is hot and burning, just like my companion´s hemorrhoids!

Spiritual Thought:
The thought today is short and sweet. Actually it´s a process that President taught us yesterday. He used it show how we can have more baptisms in our mission, but I would like to change it a little bit to show how we can have more success in life.
Worthiness ---> Preparedness ----> Holy Ghost -----> Strength to Overcome ------> Success!
The Holy Ghost is the center part of this diagram, everything else is all related. If we want to have more success in the home, and in our lives, we first need to be worthy of it. We can be worthy by following the commandments, reading the scriptures, praying, etc. We need to be prepared for the Lord´s help. We need to be ready to act. Once we are ready the Lord will tell us what to do through the Holy Ghost. The things we need to do to have success are hard, but we will receive to strength to overcome what ever difficulty that we will have. I know that this is true, and the if we are worthy, and prepared, we will receive more of the Holy Ghost in our lives, which will lead to more success!
