Short and sweet
Hey Everybody!!!How is everyone doing?
This week has been really crazy for me, it seems that things are finally looking up for my area, we are dillegently working hard, and it seems that everything is out to get us. Even our own ward. It is funny in the past there has been slacker missionaries here, so the ward doesn´t trust us very much. But we are trying our best to show that we are here to serve. Things are starting to turn, but that doesn´t mean we can stop, we are at a point where it is crucial for us to work really hard. It´s like starting a snowball that you can roll down a mountain to collect snow, at first it´s difficult, but after it get´s going it get´s going.
I haven´t recieved any mail yet, hopefully I will get some on Friday. My area is way out in the middle of nowhere, so it is hard to get any communication. I only get mail at Zone Conferences and Interviews. This friday I will have interviews with President. My mission president is awesome, he is a lot like Dad, a guy who gives big bear hugs, jokes around a lot, but will be serious and spiritual when he needs to be.
Really, Elder Scott stayed with Grandma and Grandpa?
So when Bunny, and Jim arrive you need to ask them about Parker, I want to know how he is doing, I wrote him a letter a long time ago, but I haven´t heard anything back.
Today for Pday we pretty much did nothing, just rested. I took a short nap, and wrote a couple letters. Sometimes it is just good to relax a little, and study the scriptures.
Religion here is crazy, and I am just starting to learn that people here will study the book of mormon, and the doctrine and covenants to find erros, so that they can challenge the members. I have been studying the Portugeuse Bible a lot with my companion, because there is a lot of different things in the bible here than the English bible. Like in the 10 commandments it says that Saturday is the day of the Lord, when in reality Saturday has two meanings, the actual sabath day, and the saturday itself. So I have to find scriptures that explain why, etc. I need to be prepared to defend the gospel using the scriptures, and my companion has a good knowledge of the scriptures.
