another week, another....
Opa familia! Hows it all going over there. Kimball i cant believe you.. you would be wearing a scarf.. is it even cold over there? Whats the weather like over there? Kimball dont become a flamer.. haha. Kimball you are pretty awesome, keep being who you are.. Mom, you arent feeling well?! Thats not good, I hope you are taking care of yourself. Im sure Dad is taking care of you, I hope kimball is too. I really liked that photo you sent of us as little kids. Im pretty sure thats when we lived in New York? Haha thats pretty awesome, those were the days. Dad, hows things going with you? Hows the whole search going? having luck? Let me know! :) Jake hows accounting? HArry and kendra hows the little guy doing? I still think its unreal that you guys will have a baby, and ill be an uncle.. so awesome!
Well anyway this week, was pretty awesome. Saturday we had a Baptism of a guy named Diogo. He is 31 years old and still lives with his parents. He is such a funny guy haha. Probably the biggest mommas boy ive ever seen. We had been working with him and his family, for about 3 weeks now. His parents didnt let him get baptised last week because they didnt think he was ready. As missionaries we knew he was ready, he was following all the commandments, stopped drinking coffee and was moving along just great, so we sat down with the parents and told them he was ready, and to let him choose because after all he is a man.. with 31years of age. So Friday he was interviewed and the next day he was Baptized! Elder Ayer Baptised him, we had about a 8 member turn out... one of the councelors of the bishopric, and one other family.. so it was cutting it close. Ity turned out great though. Such a wonderful saturday, literally the greatest moments of the mission watching a child of God enter into the path of Eternal life through Baptism. The Next day in Church I had the privilege to confirm him a member of the church. It was pretty awesome, after the confirmation he got up and said really loud. "thank you elder Kenning for the prayer", and gave me a big hug haha. Its ppretty awesome, the people we are Baptising are all 20 to 30 year old men. Diego has 23, diogo has 31, and then saturday we'll be baptising and young guy with 21 named Matheus. Yesterday they were all together at church kicking it off together haha its like the three musketeers.
So that other guy Matheus is pretty elect, he's super firm about baptism this week, we taught him about the Word of Wisdom yesterday. He accepted everything, only had a real problem with coffee but is willing to give it up. The Branch here in Barra is growing, and its awesome to be apart of it too. We are getting so much support from the members now since we've been bringing in the baptisms. Im really enjoying this phase of the mission.
My comp is great, we are working really hard together. We are getting so much attention as americans walking in the road. Its been good because we've gotten in so many houses because of that. Its been quite the adventure thats for sure.
Im doing really well over here, i have no complaints.
Oh, mom can you send me the Address for Giant.. i need to send the a post card.. i told them i would and still havent haha. Could you put like 20 more bucks on.. i really want to buy you guys some gifts and send them to you all here from Brazil.
um, but for Christmas Im not sure if you got my little list from last week. I dont really need anything.. you guys are doing a ton for as it is. Just send me a card :) Thanks :)
Love you guys!
Love, Elder Kenning
