Transfers!!
Well good morning ya'll.. glad to hear you all are doing well, mom im sure having a break is always nice. Im glad my letter made it to you guys. I had forgotten I had sent it.
Well like it says in the header, its transfer week. Last night an this morning we've been hearing about whats going tobe happening here in Barra do Piraí.
Yesterday President called us, and told my companion that he has climbed to be Zone Leader in Zone Uba. This morning, the assistents called me to let me know ill be getting a new companin.. his name is Elder Ayer, he's american! He's from New Hamshire! I got to know him a little bit in my las area.. its nuts, im pretty stoked to have a companion american! When the assistents called me they said I had a huge responsibilidy to show him the area.. because half way through the transfer i will probably be transfered to open a new area in the mission.. it was quite the shocker but its not official, but im pretty sure it will happen because they had told me. The area is called Trés Pontos, in Minas Gerais.. they said there never was missionaries there. Im prett stoked, but im not going to give my hopes up on it if it doesnt happen, wwhatever the lord wants. So thats the update for this transfer.
This week has been pretty awesome. we marked a ton of dates for baptism. Yesterday we had a baptism, yes mom, it was in that little baptismal font, It was one of my investigators diego. Hes awesome, he only went to church once before and we've only been teaching him for about 2 weeks, I was able to baptize him yesterday, and next week he'll be confirmed a member of the church! It was awesome, it was super super sueper hot yesterday, but the water was freezing it was amazing haha. After the baptism he told me that his life had changed for the better and he'll never forget the moment. Then he gave me a huge hug. Probably one of the best feelings ive had in the mission. Ill send some pictures. We had the other family ready for baptism this week too, but on Tuesday we went over there and they cut us.. we taught every lesson to them and everything. She had read everything, reading the book of mormon. She liked everything and had a testimony. We went over there and I said are you excited for your baptism on sunday!? She said well.. everyone has free agency right? I said well of course! Then she said to me. well i want to continue going to my church.. after that we tried to help her gain confidence and she denied everything and then we left. I havent been back since.. that day was really rough for me.. Its hard for me to see my investigators deny the church like that. Specially when ive gained so much trust and love for my investigators. So that happened, but we were blessed with diego this week being baptized.
well time is runnning out for me here.. ill update you guys more next week! Well it was nice talking to you guys today! Hope to hear from you next week! Love you guys! Let me know if you need anything!
Love, Elder Kenning
