Hey dudes, sup bros, its killer down here man. (Californian accent)
My new ward is way different. In the first hour, during the hymns, nobody sings, well a few do. All I can here is just the organ playing.
Church starts at 1pm and ends at 4pm.
We got there late because we had to pick up an investigator. When I got in and sat down in church, one of Bishops counselors were conducting and announced that "our first speaker doesn't know that he is speaking, He is our new missionary to the ward and he will bear to us his testimony of the Gospel" and after I heard that, I looked at my comp. and he started to laugh. But I did go up there and introduced myself. I said I was from Maine and came here to vacation...To serve the Lord for two years and that I was excited to have the opportunity to serve in the Mesa View ward.
Later during elders quorum, was probably one of the funniest classes I've been in. Like I said, church starts at 1 and ends at 4, so it is like 3:30 and like 5 of us in class and 3 of the Elders including my comp were so tired. The Elders Quorum Pres was teaching. We are all in chapel on the front row. The funny thing was, that in front of the teacher sitting on the pew was this guy who was sooooo tired, he was slouching, and you know when you are sitting and falling asleep at the same time and your head bounces back and forth, because your catching yourself before you fall over. Well this guy head was literally all over the place, completely back or rolling from left to right, constantly. And the funniest part was that the teacher knew and we all knew it and couldn't ignore yet the lesson continued with smiles on our faces. We were reading a sad story about sacrifice and the teacher who was reading it starts cracking up (because the guy whose head is moving everywhere) in the middle and says (I don't know why I'm laughing because this is not funny), and the whole time a few of us were just trying to hold in all the laughter including me. It was so funny.
Well this area when I got here, has been considered a dead area, I looked at previous records and this area has been pulling out 0's and probably 2 or 3 lessons taught a week, and they are Less actives. We are not home teachers. This area haven't had a baptism in a while. For me, there is no reason why this area can't pull baptisms. We are going to work extra hard here.
My Comp. is from Idaho, he likes a dip cone at McDonald's, younger set mind. he is 3 months younger than me in the mission. He likes storm chasing and for some reason he hates car alarms, every time one goes off he cringes. And he makes me play his silly antics, like, I don't know the area, we are driving and I expect him to tell me where to go. He doesn't tell me or say a word till we pass the street no matter how many times I ask him, he does it because he thinks its funny, its not, I've done 60 u-turns this week. It is a waste of time. And I'm not exaggerating. He doesn't want to work as hard, so that's where I'm going to get him, we are going to work all day, every minute, doesn't matter if we are starving and feet are bleeding :). His previous only two companions weren't as the most dedicated hard workers either.
I would give a spiritual message, but I forgot my Book of Mormon. so here it is. If you have true faith, there is no question of wonder.

P.s. the Pictures are the spot where you can see the Ocean, the other is my area
