Coming from the Anaheim California Mission, this is Elder Kenning with another update. yeaaahhhh
Craziest Saturday on my mission yet. and Also Some Big Events are going to be happening this transfer.
First the events: On thursday, Zone Conference. at zone conferences, we listen to our president talk and a missionary talks, that has been invited of the president, then lunch, then we split up and do more specific teaching. After that maybe we'll watch a movie.
then in two weeks is Temple trip
Then the day before General Conference is President Interviews.
the General Conference.
After that on April 6, kimballs Birthday, is Mission Conference and Elder David A. Bednar will be coming to speak and meet us each.
Pretty exciting, ain't it. (austrailian accent)
So last saturday, I've never heard of this before. On thursday we get a call saying we are going on splits with the Young Men from another stake. As we found out what is going on, this event is called Army's of Helaman, we were astonished to know that the whole Anaheim stake and Placentia stake YM were coming over to go on splits with the missionaries in Orange and Anahiem stake. So we thought and planned two YM per companionship. but that didn't happen, it was a mess. What happened is after we had lunch all together we were assigned young men to go with us. Elder Roberts, my comp, got two ym and took the car and left. While I was assigned two young men I got a driver and a RM who wanted to tag along and a driver and we all went tracting! It was awkward being the only one with a black name tag out 3 other guys walking the streets knocking doors. I had to lead them and train a 14 year old and 17 year old for 2 hours. but it was interesting.
Spiritual thought:
St John 7: 17
"If any man will do his will, he shall know of the doctrine, whether it be of God, or whether I speak of myself."
As we try to follow what is right and do what the scriptures says, pray, go to church and remembering Christ throughout the week we can have the spirit to be with us and when we make decisions and help us understand and discern thoughts. Which entirely we don't have to worry about whether it be of God or myself, because we are already doing our best. In the name of Jesus Christ, Amen.
