Our area is huge! And there is so much jungle everywhere...

Hey Everybody!

How is everyone doing?! I can´t believe it! Jake is out at college. That is pretty awesome, congratulations Jake. It should be pretty sweet. I bet you are just pumped to be out there.

Anyways, I can´t believe that it is already the start of a new year, and crazy enough it is the start of 2011! As Dad was saying this year will be very interesting, full of experiences that will leave behind great stories to tell in the future. I am really excited for this year, and it should be pretty awesome.

Here in my area is pretty funny. It is a tourist attraction, for all the big city folk to come and relax for their daily cares. So my area was pretty packed with a lot of tourists the past week. IT was kind of hard because any time that we would do any road contacts, the person did not live in our area, but despite the odds we worked really hard, and I sure hope the Lord will bless us for it.

But with my area being a tourist area, the government has put up a public work out area, in the local park. So now every morning we all run over there, and do exercises, then run back. It is pretty funny this work out area, because it doesn´t have any weights or anything, but the weight you work out with, is your own personal weight. I will take some pictures and send them next week.

Our area is huge! And there is so much jungle everywhere. I really feel like I am in Brasil in this area. We need to be rally careful because we can run into poisonous snakes, and animals while we are hiking from house to house. It the only area in the mission that is like this, and it is pretty crazy. But I am loving it, because I was kind of getting sick and tired of all the city commotion and pollution. So now we have to walk everywhere, I attached a picture of a huge stair case that we have to climb everywhere. I hope you like it mom.

So whats new with he ward, the family, and everything? Anyone else getting married this week?

Yes I did get the packages, I got 4 from you guys, and 1 from grandma. Thanks so much, I loved the ties, the shirt, and especially the slippers. Thanks so much!

So training has been proving to be a new experience. I have had to be doing almost everything by myself seeing that my comp doesn´t speak very much Portugeuse. It is pretty interesting having to teach all by myself, and do contacts. It is pretty funny, watching my comp do missionary things for the first time. He is such a greenie! I laugh so much throughout the day, with all his comments that he says. It has been fun as well to teach him portuguese. I guess I was the same way when I came on the mission.... Dang that seems like such a short time ago....

Lets see here, well there is nothing to crazy happening around here. Thanks so much for all the prayers, and everything that you guys are doing for me. I can really feel all the strength that the Lord has been giving me, and I know that it because of you guys!

Love,

Elder Kenning
