Just like Elder Holland said, you need to give everything you got, until you drop dead and they need to carry you back on a stretcher!
Hey Everybody!
I can now say that I survived sister cleide´s lunch.... There is a sister in my ward called sister cleide.... She is famous throughout the whole entire mission. She is so famous because of how much food that she gives you. Its horrible... The food is actually really good, but too much of any good thing is a bad one. I thought I was going to die last Sunday. What she does, she first works psychologically with you, telling that she used every little bit of her money that was left to buy the food, and also that she had woke up at 2 in the morning just to make the food. So you already feel bad if you don´t eat everything. But it doesn´t stop there, she then serves you. She loads your plate so it is overflowing! And tells you to eat it. This time she made for us; rice, beans, stroganoff, spaghetti, chicken, and bread. And once you have finished the first plate, and are already starting to feel really full, she grabs your plate without asking and loads it up a second time.
She has a picture album of all the missionaries who have gone sick at her house because of how much they have eaten. It is like she takes pleasure in watching us get sick. But I can pridefully say, I DID IT! But it came at a price, I had to go home and lay down, or I would have thrown it all up.... But that was my Sunday dinner. Its times like these that make me miss mom´s roast beef with mashed potatoes and gravy.
So this week has been very busy, we have been working a lot. It is really cool because I feel like I am coming into my ´´prime as a missionary´´. I am used to all the problems, I can handle them, and I can speak the language just fine. Now I am just needing the Lord to show me and guide me to those that I have been prepared to help. And that is the hardest part in my area. My area is incredibly rich. The other day I say a bright red ferrari going down the road! Those are incredibly rare and expensive here, I was quite flabbergasted. So we are going to do an exposition here in the downtown, and we are applying the ward mission program of the 15 names.
Anyways for my friend here, he wants an Ipod, and here Ipods are almost 1,200 reais, 600 dollars. So... I was wondering if you can send me one, so that he can buy it from me. It doesn´t need to be anything extravagant, just a simple one like mine. I simply don´t want to sell him mine now because it is full of pictures and movies from the mission. So like an 8gb nano or something like that would be great.
So for my birthday, we had a party at a member´s house. She told me she put the pics on facebook, I hoped you liked them mom. But the party was great. That family is a great family, they help us out with everything. Last night we even had a FHE at there house.
So things are going great down here. Thanks so much for everything you guys do for me! I love you guys so much! Don´t worry Dad, I will not lose my focus! 150% all the way until the end. Just like Elder Holland said, you need to give everything you got, until you drop dead and they need to carry you back on a stretcher! The church is true!
With a huge amount of love, hugs, and kisses( well maybe not since an elder can´t kiss.....)
