I started teaching the Relief Society how to cook.
How is everyone doing way out there? Thanks so much for the emails Jake and Grant. It is better late than never. I really appreciated it, I needed a few good laughs, and it was good hearing from you guys.
So yeah.... What is new around here..... Yesterday we had Zone Leader Council. It was great. We had the chance to discuss a lot of ideas to help out our mission. We are trying to get everyone excited for the Christmas time of year. You would think that around Christmas we would be able to teach more and baptize more, but it seems that everyone rejects us more during this time of year. It is also complicated because everyone likes to vacation, and stay at home rather than go to church or recieve company. I don´t blame them, I would be the same way. The Brazilians down here work a lot. They work crazy hours, have only one day off, and get paid very little for their hard work. But when there is any chance to rest, boy do they take advantage of it. Brazilians sure know how to party very well.
Things are going better with my comp. I didn´t mean to seem touchy, and stuck up with my last email. I apologize, it wasn´t very missionary like, nor Christ like. I have been studying alot about patience this past week, and I hope that I will be able to work on this Christ like attribute. It is interesting with the different companions that you have, you learn the things that you do and don´t like really quickly. Also you learn about yourself alot, and have a lot of chances to evaluate yourself, and improve yourself. Everything you do on the mission is not only to help other people but it is also to help you turn into the man that the Lord want]s you to be. You can ask Dad, Would you be the same person today, if you didn´t serve your mission?
The mission is awesome! I love being able to work for the Lord. The Lord is really guiding and directing this work. Last week, inspite of many hardships we were able to find many families that are looking for the gospel. Also the ward is starting to get re=excited about missionary work again. We have been focusing a lot on the members these days so we can have more success this month. The members are key to have successful missionary christmas. I am excited to hear that mom has invited a lot oof people over to have dinner, have you invited anyone who isn´t a member as well? Have you invited the missionaries to share a Christmas message with everyone?
I don´t know if I told you this yet, but a couple of weeks ago I started teaching the Relief Society how to cook. Isn´t that funny? I taught all the women how to make that carrot cake that mom makes with cream cheese frosting. Everyone loved it. Now everyone wants me to make tacos, with fresh tortillias.
Umm..... I love you guys so much!!!!! I feel the best way that I can help you guys out there, is serving my best here. I know that times are rough, but I know the Lord will take care of us as I work hard. I think that is one of things that keeps me going, whenever I get tired or down, I always think I can´t stop, the Lord and my family are depending on me!
The church is true!
