Good morning to you folks in America! How has your week
been? Seems like you guys have been doing a lot! Thats pretty cool. That wall
that dad built is pretty amazing! Looks like you guys are doing a lot to the
house which is way cool. Im sitting here in the office of the mission right
now, because after I email and such I will be going over to the federal
building and getting all of my paper work finished so that I can actually be
legal here in Brazil haha. So I guess my p-day is poretty much gone because of
that but whatever itll still be pretty relaxing doing nothing. This past week
has been pretty good though. Not a whole lot has changed, still working with
the same investigators, really trying to reload the area and build up our
teaching pool here because this area is struggling. Doing a lot of door knocking,
and street contacts. Its so much more different doing missionary work here
because every single thing about it is different, language, people, culture,
tactics, teaching style, everything! Quite the adjustment let me tell you haha
Its all good though.
I was able to go on two exchanges this past week with the
Zone Leaders and the other american in my house who is still being trained so a
little bit younger than me.. So two americans wondering the streets of Brazil
at night thinking we know the language but in reality we dont haha. Quite
humorous actually. We only did door knocking and contacts because we knew we
werent good enough to hold a strong lesson with just the both of us. I mean we
can teach, but its the responses and the questions people have for us is what
gets us haha. It was good though. Other than that we had Zone conference on
Wednesday, which was actually really awesome. I actually understood pretty much
everything spoken. President is so awesome, talked a lot about being focused,
and doing our part as missionaries. Also about commitment techniques that we
need to use when giving our investigators commitments. I really have been using
that one a lot this past week because I need it and my investigators need it
too.
So like ive been
saying a lot everything here is really different than the U.S. haha. Ive had
some pretty interesting foods thats for sure. One family gave us food after a
lesson. They ordered hotdogs with some green sauce I dont even know! The hot
dog had little potatoe chips, mayo, raisins, miniature eggs, and tomatoes and
off course the hot dog haha I ate it! Wasnt too bad, just took me by surprise
thats for sure. A lot of people love having a sausage with there lunch, so the
usual lunch for me is rice beans, and sausage with some homemade juice.
Aparrently after the FBI thing, we are getting lunch at Burger King. Never
thought Id be excited to have american fast food.. Well I am haha. Its going to
be so good. The culture is pretty crazy here to! Everyone loves to party! Every
weekend each block has something called a "festa" or a concert.. so
Its super loud. Plus everyone has there little beat up cars and put freaking
huge stereos in them and crank the music as loud as it can go! Id say
motorcycles/dirtbikes are close to being the main form of self reliant
transportaion around here. You have to be a daredevil to be riding one of those
around here because everyone goes super super fast and tries to get air of any
little bump on the street.. And since my area is straight mountains and hills
the roads are very narrow and dangerous. Let alone huge busses travel through
there too. Its pretty interesting here that for sure! Thats all that really
happened this week! Sorry I dont have more to say, but I have some cool pictures
this week for you guys! Kimball will like them :) Love you guys! Hope you have
a great week! Hope to hear from you soon!

ease, the stronger the winds, the stronger trees. The further sky, the greater
length. The more the storm, the more the strength. By sun and cold, by rain and
snow, In trees and men good timbers grow." ----- Mathew 11:28-30
