bom dia!
how is everyone doing today! Crazy to think our time to
skype is already over, that definitely came and went haha. It was so nice to
see you guys though! Pretty cool to be able to do a three way skype. I feel
like I talked way to much though, you guys hardly said anything! Yet I feel
like I had so much more to say.. evreyday is like that haha whenever my day
ends I feel like I want to tell you all about it. Guess thats what P-day is
for. Anyway. It was pretty weird to see you guys though, since its literally
been like 4 months! Kimball and jake you guys are punks.. Kimball you can wear
my clothes just not my elites.. those are valuable to me haha. Same with you
jake. I was glad to see that you guys were doing well though. Fun listening to
harry speak Portuguese though, I understood about half of it, then Elder
Nugeira informed me of what you said.. wow haha.
This past week has been pretty good, been trying at times
because its completely different then what Im used to! I think i´m in the swing
of things again though. Still working on the language though! Probably will be
my entire mission.. boa sorte. Once I get it down itll be good. Ive been able
to do a lot of teaching this past week and door contacts. As a service project
here the missionaries nget together and travel to different areas and deliver a
message on behalf of the mayor about the disease Dengue. We pass out fliers and
then give a brief message about the chuch afterwards! Did that for a couple of
hours, taught the Restoration many times haha its pretty cool actually, the way
we teach it is by drawing the whole restoration on paper as we teach. Its
pretty helpfull. Ive been able to do the first vision a bunch of times which is
so powerful, and awesome. I love that part. Its really the best feeling when
you finish teaching and you ask the investigator `voce entende-o" meaning
did you understand? and they say yes.. like that little word yes is the best
answer ever, huge feeling of relief comes over me haha. But on the other hand
I´ve had a couple experiences where people say no.. or mais o menos meaning
more or less.. which can be really frustration because I have so much to add to
the lesson but in that expereince it has no value..
In preach my Gospel an apostle wrote saying the language
everyone can have in common with is the Spirit to testify to there hearts,
thats all we need as missionaries is the spirit to teach and testify to our
investigators. I had a couple cool experiences this week while teaching. We have an investigator who will not read the
book of mormon because she wont believe in it. We read 2 nephi 29 with her
which is a brutal chapter then read moroni 10;3-5 and had her pray right there
with the things spoken about in those versus. The spirit was so strong, there
was no response afterward but I know, and I did testify to her that that is the
spirit telling you the Book of the word of God. People know it, The Spirit does
not lie that and the Book of mormon are the greatest tools for conversion. I
love being bold in missionary work because Whats there to fear? Its the
Doctrine of Christ everyone needs to hear it. I love the Gospel. We had Zone
meeting this week which was good too, practiced teaching in front of the whole
zone.. so crazy.. but It was good I guess. This week we have zone conference I
believe which im pretty excited! Nothing else special will happen that I know
of. Thats all I really have considering that we skyped yesterday! I hope you
guys have a great week though! I love you guys so much! Happy Mothers day Mom!
I know it was yesterday but I dont think I told you enough times..
Love, Elder Kenning
Spiritual Thought:
Alma 53 and 56 Talks about the 2000 Stripling warriors and how they were mighty
young men, valiant and great examples to everyone. Only because they listened
to their mothers. They really are called "mommas boys" if thats what
a mommas boy is, then count me in! Love you mom, Happy mothers day! :)
