Happy New Year!
Happy New Year,
I get to email you today because yesterday and the day before the library was closed. But since the time we skyped or I should say 'face-timed", a lot has happened. Christmas Eve my companion noticed he got a spider bite, and Christmas day it got really bad. That night we had to take him in to a urgent care. We went back a few times, but it wasn't helping. On Thursday He got admitted into the ER and had to have an IV hooked up to him to give him a heavy dose of antibiotics. He is doing better. I got some pictures of his leg, we believe it is a brown recluse spider. The members are supportive, the Bishop brought us In-n-out to the ER for us, because we were there from 430-930pm.
Because of whats happening, under the direction of the President Bowen, he is not aloud to leave the apartment for 7 days. Its hard for me, because I have to stay in the apartment with him. But everyday I've been on an exchange with other elders to help keep me going. It helps getting me out of the apartment. I wrote lots of letters and cleaned and played monopoly also. Sister Bowen, mission presidents wife, said the first day that it will be a trial of my patience. That statement holds true. At first I was like whatever, but Its making me want to get out and find, teach, baptize.
We taught some awesome lessons. We found a young couple, Ryan and randy, randy being the girl. We taught them an awesome first lesson and we knew that we were there because God knew that they were ready to come unto him. It was a great experience.
Things are going great, I love all the letters and packages that were sent out! I'm surprised to see so much support from the ward especially and friends and family. I don't know if I can write everyone back but I love all those who support me. I got at least 6 letters out this week. probably more will be coming.
Scripture: John 14:26-27 "But the Comforter, which is the Holy Ghost, whom the Father will send in my name, he shall teach you all things, and bring all things to your remembrance, whatsoever I have said unto you. Peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you; not as the world giveth, give I unto you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid."
The Holy Ghost is the Comforter, peace, light, understanding, truth, love, and guide. We shouldn't be afraid of the world. "For with God nothing shall be impossible."Luke 1:37
