Elder Kenning's One Year Mark is Approaching!

Dear Family,

This week has been pretty exciting and hard. The area my companion and I have come in, the missionaries had neglected in keeping to date the area book and the apartment was dirty. And there hasn't been a baptism all year.

Elder Mulivai and I have been walking all week. We didn't have any bikes for half the week and when we got them they were flat, so we just walked anyways. And basically starting from scratch. The members are really cool here. Just by walking, members have already stopped us on the road, so we already got to know a lot of members. Some of them saw us running across the street so they tried to hit us and pretend to be mad at us and after they introduced themselves as members and invited us over for pancakes during conference.

The Great Announcement from the Prophet. Elders can go at 18 and Sister can at 19. I think the sisters one is a crazy one, but there will be a lot a missionaries out there. We've heard sisters in this stake already getting there papers started. Even though I had a year, if I could have gone out early, I don't know if I would be ready. For me I think 19 was the age for me to do it. Some still wait till their 20's. But its all good stuff, we will be seeing those young chaps in the mission soon. I also heard the time at the MTC is being cut down even if your are learning a new language. Also they are going to open up new missions.

General Conference was full out on Families, the Plan of Salvation and Missionary Work. It was intense.

My first district meeting went well. We discussed hard core about baptizing and just constantly talking and invited about it. It's cool being in the same stake again, I have seen members in Brea in a previous ward.

Helaman 5:11 "And he hath power given unto him from the Father to redeem them from their sins because of repentance; therefore he hath sent his angels to declare the tiding of the conditions of repentance, which bringeth unto the power of the Redeemer, unto the salvation of their souls."

-Love, Elder Kenning
