Harry Home and preparations for Jake!
Wow...I can't believe that I haven't been on the blog and updated for over a month now. Well, yes, I can believe it because I still haven't completed that mission scrapbook for Harry yet either that I spoke about during my last entry. I dare say i haven't even started. I can't believe I just said that out loud. :) Luckily, Harry kept a nice scrapbook from his mission.
Having Harry return home from his mission has been such an awesome experience. There really isn't anything like the joy of having your son return home from a mission with honor and success. I was literally crying tears of joy for days leading up to his return. We often cry for sadness, but I have contemplated as of late how often we cry because we are so happy. This was one of those occasions.
On the day he returned (April 21) we drove from the airport straight up to Topsham to meet with President Quinn to be released and report on his mission at Bishops Training that evening. What an amazing experience that was hearing Elder Kenning report on his mission and bear testimony of the truthfulness of the Gospel of Jesus Christ in Portuguese. Many tender and sweet feelings I will treasure from that evening. Many of which are too personal to share in blog form, but if you ask, I will share them with you personally.
Harrison has and continues to be a wonderful example for his three younger brothers who have mission plans of their own.
Jacob turns 19 next month and is progressing towards submitting his papers. We have been delayed a bit due do some medical and dental appointments. He is scheduled to have his wisdom teeth out on June 7th and has his physical with his doctor on June 13th. Once these two appointments are complete, his official papers will be sent to Salt Lake City.
I will let you know right here when those papers are in. And I will also let you know right here when that call comes and where he will go.
We are more excited than ever to have Jacob serve....especially now that we've experienced the joy of a returning missionary. It is simply indescribable joy.
I'll keep you posted!
